Officer Matt Parkman of the LAPD is just getting his first call of the morning. A nude jogger on the promenade. Great. It’s better than coffee, being a cop in this town. There must be some sort of magnetic field that attracts weirdos to the West Coast. Tectonic plate shifting or something.

Well, fine, he’s on his way. But he’ll be damned if he speeds there. Because today is gorgeous and perfect, and he is in just the right mood to drive by his favorite landscape. Which is, as chance would have it, just a block away from his destination.
